What is the difference between Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus), and General Aviation (GA)?
The difference is that RAAus is for recreational pilots only, and that's perfectly fine if that's all you want, and EAS Flight Training is happy to help. If you want a career as a pilot or want to fly larger aircraft, then you will need to fly GA aircraft and obtain a full licence.

EAS Flight Training is approved for both, so if you decide to pursue a GA licence, you can easily transition without changing flying schools or your instructor.
There are many flying schools on the Mid-North Coast. Why is EAS Flight Training different?
What makes EAS Flight training unique in Port Macquarie and the Hastings District is our approval for both RAAus and GA. Our instructors hold dual instructor ratings and can teach anything from RAAus to commercial and multi-engine instrument ratings.

Our instructors are also active commercial pilots, they are required to demonstrate their flying ability to a very high standard every two years with a CASA Flight Examiner.
Why is your GA training more expensive than your RAAus training?
RAAus operates under exemptions in the civil aviation regulations because they only carry two people.

This means the maintenance can be carried out to a standard that is NOT equivalent to that required for larger GA aircraft. Fully licenced aeronautical engineers must maintain GA aircraft under stringent rules and only approved aviation parts are allowed to be used. Unfortunately, the higher maintenance standard results in higher operating costs.
Is it easy to find a job after I finish flight training?
Sadly, we hear of many students whose flying school tells them that job opportunities are plenty. Some even promise jobs to their students only to be bitterly disappointed once they have spent tens of thousands of dollars on training with no job.

EAS Flight Training is upfront with students looking for a career as a pilot. Getting that first job is very hard with few hours and a bare commercial licence. It takes a lot of hard work, study, money and, most of all, patience!

For those who stick with it, it may take several years to build experience and finally achieve that dream, and rarely does it not come for those who wait, put in the effort, and keep networking.
How much does flight training cost?
Price estimates are based on the average time to complete the course, governed by the minimum requirements per the CASA Part 61 Manual of Standards. Prices are intended to be used as a guide only and may vary depending on individual competency and ability. Any additional or remedial training required to meet the minimum standard shall be charged at the applicable rate. There is no lock-in contracts, pay-as-you-go, self-paced or full-time to suit your budget.
